Could a Remake of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter Be On The Horizon?
An interview by TechRaptor with experienced level designer Samuel Villarreal may have just revealed that he intends to go along to remake the iconic dinosaur hunting game, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, maybe reviving the franchise as well.
Samuel Villarreal, a level designer from many different games, has confirmed his own plans to revive and remakeTurok: Dinosaur Hunter.
Samuel Villarreal, who's a very competent level designer who'southward worked on the likes of Fearfulness: Perseus Mandate, Section 8, Aliens: Colonial Marines and more had been rebuilding the iconicTurok: Dinosaur Hunter game in his free time, but has since set it aside while he remasters some other classic game,Powerslave. Merely in his interview he said, in no uncertain terms, thatTurok will indeed be continuing development later on this year. TechRaptor asked if he was going to exist working on other shooters, and he was rather frank well-nigh it:
I was originally working on remaking N64 Turok (called Turok EX) but it got put off to the side. Since now Night Swoop Studios has picked up the rights to re-release information technology, Turok EX will resume development after this year.

That's fantastic news and definitely not the usual circular PR answer. Just as Villarreal is excited to bring backPowerslave EX, he's also committed to bringing another classic N64 game back from the dead. So in reality, this isn't a typical rumor, but instead an unofficial confirmation that a game will be made, sometime in the hereafter at least.
I absolutely enjoy having dinosaurs in games. theHunter: Key showed us just how challenging those beasts tin be as antagonists in the way of victory, and the originalTurok series of games, though not all well received, were all the same fun in their own correct. I recollect information technology's great that a remake is potentially in the works.
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter originally made it'southward debut in 1997 on the Nintendo 64 and was very positively received. Information technology was as well the very first game to be developed by a 3rd party. The original has you taking control of Tal'Set, or Turok, who is a Native American fourth dimension-travelling warrior who is charged with protecting the barrier between Earth and the Lost State. You fought against the forces of the Apostle to find the Chronoscepter, an immensely powerful weapon, so that the ii land tin be protected.
